Happy Days

Well, if you read my last post, you would know that, not everything checked out at our 20 weeks scan.

We had to go back and they still couldn’t check the heart properly.

So, the past week, we had an appointment at the fetal Cardiology department in Leeds, where they have more powerful equipment.
It was a bit daunting, going into the room. The scanning machine seemed a lot bigger than those normally used, but I suppose that is to be expected.
The Sonographer explained that they were going to take a look at the heart and herself and another lady in the room, would be mumbling to each other throughout. Even so, every time I saw her highlight something on her screen and mumble to her colleague, it still made me take a sharp intake of breath.
But, after they took about 20 pictures and about 10 little sound clips, analyzed them, scrutinized them, they came to the conclusion that "Rupert" is just fine. Other than the small things that it wouldn’t be able to pick up and is possible in all babies, they were happy everything was good.
Although, very relieved, I cant help but still have a nagging feeling in the back of my mind, that there was a reason they needed to send us to the specialist and I don’t think that feeling will go away, until little "Rupert" enters this world and can be checked by a paediatrician.
But as it stands "Rupert" is growing nicely and although he is only the Size of a Papaya, The Mrs is feeling VERY pregnant.

Also, now we know we are going to have two boys, the plan is for them to eventually share a room (Think "Rupert" will stay in our room for first 6 months), so we are looking for any theme ideas, that you like, have used, isn't too expensive and can be done by a mummy and daddy as creative as a plank of wood. Any suggestions, add them to the comments below, or even better, send me a picture of what you used for your little ones bedroom either on @_firsttimedaddy or email me using the buttons at the top of the page.

As always thanks for reading
FTD
